Unlock the synergy of GIS and imagery.

Take a voyage of discovery through modern workflows used by organizations worldwide to seamlessly combine imagery, remote sensing, and geospatial data with cutting-edge GIS tools. You'll get a grounding in fundamentals, sample diverse use cases, and build skills to deliver deeper insights and create richer information products that support informed decision-making. Gain practical experience with ArcGIS capabilities to acquire, manage, and exploit imagery in powerful 2D and 3D visualizations and AI-enhanced analytical workflows.

Goals

  • Explore authoritative sources to acquire imagery and scalable management options in ArcGIS that streamline imagery access and sharing across an organization.
  • Analyze hyperspectral, time-enabled, synthetic aperture radar (SAR), and oriented imagery to create highly realistic visualizations and gain insights that drive faster response and more efficient operations.
  • Automate time-consuming workflows by applying geospatial artificial intelligence (GeoAI) tools and deep learning to classify landcover and detect change.
  • Understand how imagery enhances GIS workflows and how GIS enhances imagery workflows.

Suggested Skills

  • Experience with Windows-based software for basic file management and browsing is required.
  • Familiarity with GIS and ArcGIS will be helpful but is not required.

Software

To complete exercises, you need the following:

Esri provides free access to ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Image Analyst software during the course. To complete course exercises, you must use a machine that meets the ArcGIS Pro system requirements.

A broadband Internet connection and a web browser that allows access to embedded video files are required. We recommend using the latest version of Google Chrome, Apple Safari, or Microsoft Edge.
