GIS Analyst Analyst/Staff Scientist
Job Duties include but are not limited to:
Managing GIS data for multiple projects in multiple locations.
Locating and incorporating site specific data as needed.
Editing and manipulating GIS data for map production and analysis.
Creating maps for proposals, plans and reports.
Processing and managing data.
Manipulating databases to extract data.
Ø Assisting in some or more of the following activities is likely in addition to GIS duties:
Ø Stream and wetland delineations, stream and wetland assessment, endangered species surveys, Clean Water Act Permitting, among others.
Ø Fish and Wildlife identification and survey methodologies;
Ø Vegetation communities (upland, riparian, and wetlands) and habitat classification and inventory;
Ø Wildlife species-habitat ecology and related research and monitoring; and
Ø Biological information synthesis and interpretation, and preparation of technical reports.
Ø Agency consultation for regulatory compliance/permitting (e.g., National Environmental Policy Act [NEPA], Endangered Species Act [ESA], Clean Water Act [CWA], and state and county equivalents), and
Ø Ability and willingness to travel as needed.
Ø Ability and willingness to assume new roles is encouraged.
Position requirements are as follow:
Ø Bachelor’s Degree in GIS, Geography, Earth/Environmental Science or related field with 2-5 years of experience.
Ø Experience with ESRI ArcGIS software products (Arc Map, Arc Scene, etc.).
Ø Experience with Trimble products and software
Ø Strong database skills in both GIS and Microsoft environments.
Ø Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ø The ability to work with various project managers on multiple projects.
Ø Excellent organizational skills including data management.
Ø Ability and willingness to travel as needed.
