Representation and Leadership: Members have an opportunity to represent a unified state voice on geospatial information and technology issues. Members assist in the development of geospatial strategic and business plans.
Communication and Coordination: Members network with other professionals through meetings, workshops, newsletters, listserv, etc.
Research and Professional Development: Members are provided opportunities for professional development, continuing education, and certification.
Education and Public Outreach: Members promote the understanding of geospatial information and technology to organizations and thepublic in West Virginia.

The Student membership is an excellent opportunity for High School, Undergraduate, and Post Graduate students. Full time students at any state-chartered educational institution shall be entitled to a dues discount of 50%. Student members are also eligible to attend conferences at a 50% reduced registration fee.
Since the WVAGP is comprised of “Geospatial Professionals” it is a great place for students to learn about career paths and to make career contacts. Students will also have opportunities to network with peers and future employers.
